How to Create a Custom Tesla Wrap
Choose a vehicle, then use optional AI generation or design from a blank template. Add images, text, shapes or brush strokes, manage them in Layers, and check the 3D result before saving or downloading.

Find your way around
Click illustrations to enlarge them. These use the English desktop interface; mobile instructions appear beside the relevant steps.
Choose a vehicle at the top, an editing area on the left, and a tool at the bottom. The car shows your design in 3D.

Choose vehicle and version
Choose your vehicle and version at the top left of the editor. Once the body template loads, you can start designing.
Choose the vehicle in the left menu and its version in the right menu.
Wait for the vehicle template to appear before adding content. Each version can have a different layout.
Design and preview
2.1Design
Use AI generation when it helps, or design entirely yourself. You can also generate a starting point and continue with the custom tools.
Choose an editing area
First choose an editing area: use âFull layoutâ for the overall design, or select an individual part.
To edit a door or bonnet manually, click that partâs card.
The flat image in the centre is the unfolded body layout. Artwork in each area appears on the corresponding part of the 3D vehicle.
Select the full layout at the top or an individual part below.

On mobile: use the editing-scope dropdown to choose âFull layoutâ or a specific part.
AI generation (optional)
To create with AI, open âAI Generateâ. The editor switches to âFull layoutâ to generate a whole-vehicle design. To work without AI, go straight to custom design below.
Before you begin: AI generation requires signing in, membership and available credits. Guests first see âSign inâ; follow the panelâs prompts if membership or credits are needed.
Open the AI panel
Click âAI Generateâ at the bottom of the editor to open the generation panel.
Open AI Generate in the bottom toolbar to enter your idea.
Describe your design
In âDescribe your designâ, describe the colours, patterns and style you want. Copy the example below and adapt it to your idea. To add a visual reference, click âReference image (optional)â.
An ocean-themed wrap in cream, deep blue and gold. Make a golden sun the main visual on the bonnet, with blue waves as the main visual on the left and right doors. Use coordinating colours on the rest of the body. A clean illustration style, without text.
Panel example: enter a description, optionally add a reference, then use the generation button at the bottom.

Check the settings, generate and wait
Check the sharing setting, then click âGenerate · 1 creditâ. The top of the panel shows the generation status and elapsed time while you wait for the result.
Before generating, check âShare to Galleryâ. Turn it off if you donât want the result shared to Gallery.

Add the generated result to your design
If you stay in the current editor while waiting, the ready result is added to the full layout automatically and the 3D vehicle updates. If the panel says âGenerated · not addedâ, click âAdd to full layoutâ.

Continue customizing the added result. When you return later, find existing results through âAdd imageâ â âChoose generated imagesâ.
Custom design
Start from a blank template without AI, or add your own elements to an AI result. Use any of the four tools below as needed; you do not have to use them all.
Add image
Choose the full layout or a part, then âAdd imageâ â âUpload from deviceâ. Select a PNG, JPG or WebP up to 20 MB. Drag to position it; use the controls below to resize or rotate.
âFill this partâ fills the selected area and crops anything outside its edges. You can try uploading and editing for free; downloading a design with uploaded images requires membership.
Upload a file from your device, or choose an image you previously generated.
Add text
Click âTextâ in the bottom toolbar, then click on the canvas in your chosen area to place text.
Select the text, then use the controls below the canvas to enter your own words and adjust the font, size and colour.
Drag text to move it, a corner handle to resize it, and the outer round handle to rotate it. Check its direction and position in 3D.
Select the lettering to reveal its handles and the text controls below the canvas.

Shapes
Click âShapesâ in the bottom toolbar and choose a rectangle or ellipse. Click and drag on the canvas, then release to finish the shape.
On narrower screens and mobile: open âDrawing toolsâ in the bottom toolbar, then choose âShapesâ or âBrushâ.
Select the shape to move it or resize it using the corner handles. You can also change its fill colour, width and height in the controls below.
Choose a shape and drag to draw it. Select it to adjust its size and fill colour.

Brush
Click âBrushâ in the bottom toolbar. Set the brush colour and width below the canvas, then click and drag on the canvas. Release to finish a stroke.
On narrower screens and mobile: open âDrawing toolsâ in the bottom toolbar, then choose âShapesâ or âBrushâ.
Each completed stroke becomes a layer. To change it later, select it in Layers and adjust its colour or width.
Activate the brush, set its colour and width, then drag on the canvas to draw.

Set colours
Click âWrap base colorâ or âPart base colorâ above the canvas and choose a swatch or a custom colour. Full layout changes every partâs base; part mode changes only that part. Existing artwork stays in place.
Manage content in âLayersâ
Click âLayersâ in the bottom toolbar to see added images, text, shapes and strokes. AI results added to the design appear here as image layers too.
Click an entry to select its element. Use the ordering buttons below the list to change which elements overlap others, or click the bin beside an entry to delete it.
Vehicle and part base colours are separate settings and do not appear as content layers in this list.
Find text, strokes, shapes and images in the list. Select an element to change its order or delete it.
2.2Preview
The 3D result updates as you edit, so you can check it at any time. After designing, drag the vehicle on the right to inspect different angles and click âExpandâ for a closer look. Check artwork placement, text direction and clipped edges, then return to editing if needed.
On mobile: tap â3D previewâ to inspect the vehicle and âBack to editingâ to continue editing.

Click âExpandâ for a larger view of the vehicle.
Front view: check the sun on the bonnet and the waves on the doors.
Rear view: check the doors on the other side and the back of the car.
- Is the main artwork complete?
- Is the placement right?
- Do both sides and the rear look right?
Return to editing if needed, make adjustments, then check a few angles again.
Save and download
The controls are at the top right. Choose the action that matches what you want to do next.

- To edit again later: click Save to keep an editable project. Cloud saving requires membership.
- Paint Shop PNG
- For Tesla Paint Shop on a vehicle that supports custom wraps: choose Download â Paint Shop PNG to get the flat wrap file.
- 3D Preview Image
- To show others the result: choose Download â 3D preview image to save the current vehicle view.
The first download option is the wrap file; the second is a picture of the car.
Downloading an image does not save the editable project. Colour-and-text designs can be downloaded free; designs with your uploaded images require membership for either download.
A few useful answers
How do I undo a mistake?
Click the undo arrow beside Layers. To remove one object, open Layers and use its delete button. You can undo a deletion too.
Will my design be here next time?
Cloud-saved designs reopen when available. If you have different unsaved local changes, the editor asks whether to restore them. A browser backup is not a cloud save; save important work before leaving.
